About the Riding School
Learning, Joy, and Wellbeing in the Saddle
At Lyngby-Taarbæk Rideklub, we offer safe and committed riding lessons primarily for children and young people – whether you’re new to riding or have years of experience. Our instructors meet each rider with presence and attention, tailoring the training to ensure everyone has a positive and educational experience.
We work purposefully to create the right match between horse and rider. When that match is right, the best learning – and the most joy – happens for both two- and four-legged participants. Horse welfare is a core value for us. That’s why our horses only work between 30 and 90 minutes a day, have at least one day off per week, and enjoy holidays together with the rest of us.
This creates happy, healthy, and cooperative horses – and a better experience for everyone.

Getting Started
Quick Start-up Guide
1. Initial Contact
Get in touch with Kate before signing up to hear about the options for starting at LTR – we need to assess, among other things, whether a suitable pony or horse is available.
2. Registration
After agreeing with Kate, the registration form is filled out and submitted.
3. Confirmation and Start
The registration is only valid when Kate has confirmed the start date and riding class, and when payment has been received.
Riding Classes
Instruction by Level
We offer both group and private lessons for all age groups and skill levels, so there’s room for you whether you’re riding for fun or training to compete in equestrian competitions. No matter your reason, when you ride with us, you’ll always receive proper instruction, ensuring that both rider and pony/horse are well cared for. Please note, that the grouplessons are provided in danish with clarification and individiual comments in english.
Please note, that parental/adult involvement and support is necessary for young children to help groom and saddle the pony before lessons, lead the pony during lessons, until they can ride on their own, as well as unsaddling and grooming of the pony after lessons.

Beginners
For those who are new to the saddle or still learning the basics.

The Horses
A Great Match for Every Rider
At our riding school, we have both ponies and horses in various sizes, each with different temperaments and skill levels. There’s a suitable match for every rider, regardless of age or experience.
Some are best suited for beginners, while others excel at more technically demanding exercises. What they all have in common is that they are sweet, calm, and well-trained — and we are very proud to offer them as part of our teaching.
Leasing
Lease a Horse or Pony
At LTR, you have the opportunity to lease your favorite horse or pony. This gives you more freedom, as the horse is yours on the agreed day, and you can ride whenever it suits you — as long as it doesn’t interfere with the riding school’s regular lessons.
Leasing also comes with certain responsibilities. You’ll agree on what type of work the horse is allowed to do, and it’s required that you participate in at least one lesson per week — either as part of a riding class or in private lessons with one of the club’s instructors.
If your lease day falls on a weekend or public holiday, you are also responsible for mucking out the horse’s stall on those days.
